An article published in the BTEC titled, “Communication in Health and Social Care” presents a web demonstrating certain communication skills that people in health and social care need to have to succeed. Some of the skills include understanding the communication cycle, keeping the conversation going, being able to organize a conversation, and knowing how to ask questions effectively (5). If these skills are not strong enough in individuals who work in the health and social fields then there will be a misunderstanding in relaying messages to one another. As a future audiologist in the health care field, I recognize that communication is a key aspect in pursuing a career; therefore additional classes in communication need to be implemented into the college of health sciences.
